The 7th flag

Hello everybody.

I have finally recovered fully from Glastonbury and feel ready to join the normal world again. Not hat i actually want to, but I have to.

Glastonbury Festival was amazing. Music from 1 Pm to 1 Am every day. Friends and dancing. Like the longest night at Koko ever. It was something to remember forever.

The first day we arrived was a nightmare. We left at seven in the morning to beat the traffic but because everyone wanted to arrive before the football started we got stuck anyway. A road that would normally take about half an hour at the most, took 6 hours. We were at standstill more than once. Might seem annoying. Imagine it being in about 25 degrees heat in a tinya car filled with stuff and three persons. I'm telling you. a nightmare. So we finally arrived at around five in the afternoon. so it took us ten hours for a trip that would take four at the most. we were tired. We still managed to pull our tents up though. We also managed to walk around the festival and get a couple of ciders in us.

Thursday was a day of nothing. sleeping most of the time do some more walking around to find everything and have a couple of more ciders in the sun. We saw a beat boxer called Beardie Man but because it was the day before the festival started there wasn't much else going on.

Friday. Started of early with Rolf Harris at the Pyramid Stage. Rolf Harris is an australian old singer with lots of funny songs. After him we went back to my swedish roots and saw Miike Snow at the John Peel stage. They were alright, but the sound was a bit dodgy. Straight after on the same stage Tegan & Sara knocked the socks off me. Although I didn't actually have any socks on. Now Glastonbury festival is famous for it's poor weather. Wellies are en essential part of your packing. This year though, there was never a cloud in sight! It was almost too hot if I dare say it! So after Tegan & Sara we went over to the Other stage (yes that is the name of the stage) to see Phoenix who killed it to and made french guys actually look attractive. But then again, anyone who is in a band is attractive. no? After Phoenix we caught the last of Snoop Dogg at the Pyramid. Funny stuff to dance to. Vampire weekend came on after and made us all feel very nostalgic. me and Dave had met up with Bonnie and her boyfirend Ed by then. poor Bonnie had already been so sunburned she was glowing red. After Vamipre weekend we got over to the John Peel again and saw Mumford and Sons. Amazing. In the sun, with a drink in your hand listening to that banjo and the amazing crowd. one of the highlights of friday. After that I split with dave. He wanted to stay at the John Peel to watch The black keys but I wen't over to the Other stage to see Hot Chip. Danced the hour away in ten min with bonnie, ed, and two goofy looking guys who had Baboon masks on. Those guys went to see Gorillaz afterwards over at the Pyramid, just like us. Bonnie, Ed and me met up with Dave by the 7th tent on the hill facing the Pyramid. After Gorillaz we had another drink but decided that we would save the rest of our strengt for saturday.

Saturday. Dave wanted to go see Two Door Cinema Club but we were too hungover os we stayed at the tent. After that I walked over the sit down by the John Peel and saw Sophie Hunger, dave joined me for Cymbals Eat Guitars and then he went back to the tent to regroup while i stayed and saw Field Music. We saw Wild beasts together and Delphic afterwards. After that we went over to the Other stage to fins Bonnie. After a bit of a struggle we did but we felt like crap and in the sun Kate Nash (who was playing) was not worth staying for. and around five we got over to see some special guest over by the Park stage. the day before, friday, Radiohead had been the special guest so we were hoping that the saturday special guest would be as good. It was only Biffy Clyro though. nothing special about them if you ask me. so we moved our way down to the Other Stage for dinner and Editors. They were much better. I hurried back to the Park to see Laura Marling with Bonnie and Ed She was good but the crowd was too big for her. By now were all in a happy drunk stage again an manage to run a 30 min walk down to 15 min to see Muse. Highlight of the week. They were Epic. Muse put up one of the best concerts I've ever been to. After Muse we were even happier and fellt invigorated enough to check out Block 9, Shangri-la and The unfair grounds. Three areas of the festival that were filled with mechanic sculptures, raves and all round freakish stuff. Not for the faint of heart but it was amazing to see how all these freakish stuff were so accepted by such a big and mainstream crowd.

Sunday. If we felt wrecked after the friday. You canimagine how we were feeling now. We got very lucky though. basically all the band we wanted to see on the sunday were playing at the Other stage so I came up with the brilliant idea that we bring our camping chairs, sit in the back of the crowd and just enjoy the music. And so we did. It was really good. Relaxed and ready we saw Temper Trap, Grizzly Bear, We Are Scientists and MGMT (although we stood up for that). By now, at seven in the evening we were ready to go again. We hurried over to the tent ot get ready for the evening. Ran down to John Peel to see the begining of Julian Casablancas who was amazing and the n hurried over to the East Dance tent to see Crystal castles. I was busy dancing. Dave went to the toilets and he rings me. Julian Casablancas was playing with the strokes. RUN! and run we did to see the end of Julian Casablancas and The Strokes. amazing. After that we finished the friday with Gomez over by the Avalon stage. also one of the Highlights. They were just as amazing, The best end to the Best festival.
We met up with Daves friends and went back to the tent. talked music till we were all asleep and dreamt of an amazing festival.

There was only one thing missing and that was you Jennifer. I miss you too. You have no idea. It feels like we keep missing each other. Either you're busy or I am. That's not how it was supposed to be. was it? Seperate lifes are good. but if my life is without you is not worth it. I tried calling you during Vampire Weekend. Filled with emotion and nostalgia. After that my battery ran out so I couldn't call anymore. I would if I could have.
I was looking through our first pictures from london. before we had met anyone, before we had jobs or homes to live in. We looked so happy and so naive. But god do I miss those two couple of weeks. When everything was new and it was you and me against london. The world. I miss you too is all I'm trying to say really.

Today me and Dave are going to a barbecue that one of his workmates are hosting. let's hope the weather stays this good as it is now.

see yah.
